La Tropézienne: St. Tropez Lookbook
Outfit inspo + my recommendations for a chic French summer!
One 45-minute propeller plane ride from Corsica to Nice, followed by a 2-hour drive down the Côte d’Azur, and we arrived in St. Tropez…oui très fancy. It was my first time visiting, and I had already envisioned the looks I was going to serve. Did I cosplay a little? Yes, but this is how I picture glamour: Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, with maybe some Jane Birkin (in La Piscine). I love the classic Hollywood girls and the elegance they so effortlessly exude. Classic silhouettes with a modern take, was my mantra while conceptualizing. Yes there are only four outfits…we only stayed for three days! Short and sweet *kiss*
To make up for my lack of inspo I will be including links to some of my pieces and others I wish I could have included. All free of charge. Maybe leave a like as compensation? Hahaha—0_0
Look one: Oscar De La Renta Silk Cami, Toteme Shorts, Khaite Flats, Fendi Bag

I say this often but have never meant it with such verve: this is my favorite outfit I’ve ever worn. As I get older, the more I appreciate a well constructed garment. Not only does this ODLR cami feel amazing on the skin (100% silk), but is fitted to perfection. The sleeve length, the way it goes in at the waist, the fact it’s double lined allowing some braless action, yeah. Having a bigger chest, it can be difficult to find tops that sit elegantly while also flattering the frame, so when I found this piece it was an instant yes.
Continuing my rave of Bermudas from last style post, the collection grows with these Toteme shorts which—ugh—have bewitched me body and soul. I included some alternatives that have the same essence as the ones I’m wearing :) Tying the look, the black-peep-toe-square-suede Khaite flats: perfection. To avoid going on and on about my love for this look I’ll end my spiel here. She’ll be reworn.

Look two: Diish halter top, Isabel Marant Flare Capris, Khaite Flats
While the Bottega flats carried me throughout Corsica, my Khaite flats filled its shoes for St. Tropez—corny? While digging though The RealReal (my biggest hobby) I came across the brand Diish, which I had never heard of, but glad I did because they have the cutest summer pieces.
Quick tangent: finding brands is one of my favorite things about TRR, I’m constantly broadening my horizons in unexpected ways if not for my shopping addiction. If you guys want my tips for TRR shopping, I’ll dedicate an entire post, I’m a professional.
Since last summer, capris have been rotational in my wardrobe and these Isabel Marant ones are my staple black pair. The flared bottoms have my heart and the fit of these champions any other capris I own. You can’t go wrong with all black (except during the heat wave we experienced). Bonus: I was spoken to in French with this look. I choose to believe it’s because I exude French vibes and not because we were in St.Tropez.
Look three: All Saints t-shirt, Zara Skirt, Bottega Sandals, and Gucci Bag

Ok confession time, I never shop fast fashion so anything I include from Zara was purchased at least two years ago. Now that’s out of the way, this look was not my favorite. Cut me some slack though it was a beach day. This All Saints t-shirt has been pulled often this summer and I like the fit on me (I’m aware butter yellow has been thrusted onto us). I am loving the skirt-shirt combo too, the colors complement well. This look was a: just woke up and pulled for the first things I saw moment.
Look Four: Lacoste Terry Cloth Polo, Gap cutoff jean shorts, Bottega Sandals, Gucci Bag

Pro hack: get a pair of old good fitting jeans and cut off the legs for the perfect Cindy Crawford Pepsi superbowl commercial look. The heat wave was still with us…which is why I whipped out the Terry cloth. No one’s about to catch ME sweating on the streets. This bright tangerine color is a great way to compliment a tan and reminds me of the little girls in The Addams Family movie during the swimming lesson. A lot of walking was going to be done this day and a diva knew what battles were worth fighting.
Sadly, I have no other looks to share *tear*. My tropezienne fantasy was short-lived but fulfilling nonetheless. Thoughts on ST are: it was cute, expensive, and a little underwhelming (?). I’m not sure what I expected, and I’m not saying I didn’t enjoy it, maybe with some more time the experience would have been different.
Wishlist!

Honestly anything from this list would satisfy my shopping craving and have added tremendously to my trip. Particularly the Versace bikini which I have dibs on (don’t try it). If anyone wants to buy me any of this please feel free! Ugh I just love Nensi Dojaka and can’t wait for the day I can afford her.
I hope you enjoyed this lookbook and keep an eye on your email for a Hamptons 4th of July post!
Till then,
Marie
